What can we learn from animals?
Animals are never seen to be as unhappy as human beings under natural conditions. Can we learn from them and find a quick fix of all our worries and unhappiness?
When we look at animals, their problems and sadness if any seem very limited as compared to us, humans. Can we conclude that they live life very naturally and spontaneously and hence, not much to worry about? Isn't that something we all desire for our well being, i. e. to live life with a very calm and relaxed state of mind.
As humans, we are conditioned from the time we are born. When we dig deep into the source of any worry and unhappiness, we can find that the same conditioning is responsible for that. Some people look at it as ego.
Even if we know that the conditioning is responsible, it is very difficult to change it or let go of it. The reason is the assumed value system, through which we somehow manage to justify ourselves that all the pain and suffering is less valuable that our goals and desires. we need to pay attention to fix this value system so that our conditioning does not make us do harmful things.
I think that we might learn simply by looking at the animals around us, that honest and truthful living is the way to go if we want to live a mentally healthy life. One should not keep paying the wrong price personally for the evolution of the whole species.
